Translation is the transfer of information or message from one language to another without distorting the original texual meaning.
It’s primary goal is to ensure that meaning is rightly conveyed to the target language without loosing the intentions of the original language.
Translation is more than just substituting words from one language to another in that:
a) information must be conveyed to the target language without altering in any way the meaning of the original language.
b) tone and style of writing must be preserved.Emotions must be felt as intended by the original language.
c) it bridges the language barrier thus making it easier for people to get the message intended in their local languages.
d)it helps us understand the cultural, historical, religious as well as economic backgrounds of the past.
